Seat Cushion Covers

Our seat cushions were starting to look pretty raunchy, they needed a makeover before David starts saying they need to get tossed. The kids chose their fabric from my bins, it was a good way to get rid of some extra fabric (and they look nice too. ^_^)

Black Mountain #5

I took the kids up Black Mountain for our first camping trip of the year. This was the first time we went without Daddy so I was a little nervous at first but things went smoothly.
Our site this time was #5, overlooking Banning and Cabazon. We decided to pitch our tent close to the edge so we can enjoy the views.
Abby getting her marshmallow stick ready.

Played some horseshoes. Here's Abby's ringer.
Abby threw one granny-style which went straight up. Watch out!

Sage sure likes climbing rocks.

Checked out the lookout point at sunset. Just beautiful.

Marshmallow time. I wish they can use their focus and concentration on other things too...

Smores! One of those foods I just don't get. I like toasted marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers, just not all together.

They like their marshmallows nice and burnt. Don't know why.

Good morning! Why is it that we can wake up early when we go camping?

What a nice morning view.

Breakfast table.

Sage would grab a piece and walk off, whereas the girls will sit and stay where the food is. ^_^

Just had to check out the view again before heading home.

Eye Pillows

Every now and then I see eye pillows pop up on a shop site and how they feel good and is relaxing. But paying ten bucks for them? No way! So I got some silky fabric, sewed a little pillow and stuffed them with flax seeds. I keep them in my freezer and they feel really good. In the end, all the kids each wanted one!

Idyllwild Park and Fitness Trail

We now have a fitness trail in town, so we went to go check it out.

Arm Walk...a lot harder than it looks.

Beautifully located, nicely surrounded by lots of trees and a creek running nearby.

Gotta love how they make up their own exercises!

Cherry Pick Time Again

It's cherry picking time again. It's been an annual thing with my folks, we always go to the same Mexican restaurant afterwards too, Tacos & Beer. This year Teru came along, I remember when we first started doing this my other brother Mitsu & family came too. It was a good meeting point for all three parties. Cherry picking is so much nicer than apple picking, we can eat quite a bit and still want more. ^_^

38 Years Young

The other day was my birthday. David always makes me omlets for my b-days and Mother's days since it's something I enjoy but never make for myself. This year's b-day omlet had cheese, goat cheese, basil, and tomatoes.

I said I wanted to hike from Idyllwild to Palm Springs again. The kids said they could do it with me so we dropped off a car in Palm Springs the day before and started a family hike from Devil's Slide.

Willow Creek. One of many rest stops.

Looks like an ad for Osprey packs, doesn't it?

Hidden Lake...we couldn't find it last year so I'm glad we found it this time. Unfortunately it was fenced off for preservation.

David whips out some PBR. Always thinking about beer, that man...

We're almost there! 6.8 miles hiked, 1.3 to go.

Since they have to listen to my wishes on this day...family picture time! ^_^

Long Valley Ranger Station.

Looking down to Palm Springs from the start of the tram ride.

Headed over to Mr. Cora's Mexican Seafood Restaurant in Cathedral City. Mmmm...that Michilada hit the spot. I'm not sure what they put on the rim but it made the drink tastier.

I'll have some of that Viagra...(^_^)
I wonder what they call it in Mexico...

Shrimp ceviche tostadas. Reminded me of the days we used go to Ensenada, Mexico to eat and drink.

The shrimp tacos were good too.

This is why we don't live in the desert.
