Chicken Feed Tote Bag

I've been seeing all these packaging being turned into practical items such as tote bags and I think they are really cool. So I took our chicken feed bag, made out of nice and sturdy plastic, and made a tote bag out of it. Now I start looking at things and wonder, Can I made a tote out of that? ^_^

Blk Mtn One More Time

The last weekend before school starts, Teru came up w/ Kaichi, my parent's friend Yamamoto-san's son. They came and visited two years ago from Japan and the kids became friends. So although it looked like it may rain, we went up to Black Mtn. for a little camping and outdoor fun.

3rd Annual Storm Baseball Game

Back in Lake Elsinore for our annual trip to the ballpark to see some minor league baseball. It was a good day, a few homeruns, some of the kids caught baseballs (spongy-kind), caught frisbees, and Sage's friend's sister even won the scream contest and scored a free pizza. And a couple players were nice enough to hang out after the game and sign autographs. We always go on a Wednesday, it's Family Night. Kids are buy-one-get-one-free tickets, they get a free hotdog, soda, and chips, and parking is free also. Regular admission is $8-10, a great price for some great seats and up front action. They even have a kids play area with jumpers and big slides.

Silverwood Lake

Met up with a really old friend that I haven't seen in over six years. Funny thing, we were reunited on Facebook. We met at Silverwood Lake about two hrs from here so the kids can play while the adults chat. Going to a lake isn't something we do that often, since most of them in our area aren't open to swimming, so I thought it was good the kids got a chance to swim in a lake. And it was good seeing my friend again.

Tissue Paper Pom-Poms

Abby made some tissue paper pom-poms with a kit by Martha Stewart. They turned out like big flower balls. We hung them from the ceiling in the kids play room, looks real cute.

Big Bear

We went up to Big Bear while David hung out at a bike race in Running Springs. I've only been there to go skiing and the kids have never been so we were all excited. Big Bear Lake was way bigger than we expected. The kids were tripping out that there were restrooms floating in the middle.
Having heard that the swimming part of the lake doesn't open till noon, we headed over to play some miniature golf. This was their first time. It wasn't a fancy course but it still was fun.

Right next to the mini golf was a water slide Emi and Sage rode.

We headed into The Village where they were having a car show.

The swimming area of the lake was fenced off and they charged a fee to go in. I didn't think $17 was worth it, so instead we spent the money to go up the ski lift to the top of Snow Summit, a nice 15-minute ride, and hiked down.

Abby's String Art

Abby got around to doing one of her art project kits she got for her birthday. Pretty cool, I think.
